Mock-up Display

The mock up display on the garage provides the Suncadia Design Review Board a sample of what the finished materials on the house will look like. The mock up must be approved prior to the roofing, siding, windows etc being done.

Onsite Recycling

CMI Homes prides itself in maintaining clean building sites and recycling all materials possible- which abides by the Suncadia Design Guidelines. The picture portrays the on-site recycling program which the working subcontractor crews dispose of their materials.

After the bins are full, Rolf (CMI Homes' on-site Superintendent) and others, drive the waste containers over to Suncadia's recycling center.

Breeze Way

The breeze way connects the house to the detached two (2) car garage which has a seperate storage area and trash container closet.

Information Board

Suncadia requires a fire estinguisher and shovel to be accessible on the site. CMI Homes decided to make the required items more easily accessible by constructing an a-frame structure and incorporating a first aid kit and a rendering of the Built Green home.

Framing

Drilling

Drilling of four (4)- 300 foot wells for the ground source geothermal system. The first well took four times as long as the other holes combined due to the smaller drill auger continuously being hung up on the rocky soil. This site required a larger auger and the drilling went quicker after the auger was changed out.

Model of the Built Green Home

Here is the required model of the Built Green Home at Suncadia. This model was required for the Suncadia Design Review Board during the review process.

The Home Show 2

The Built Green Home at Suncadia had a special corner in the Built Green booth during the Home Show 2 (October 6-9, 2005). Many visitors stopped by and were greeted by those manning the booth. Many questions arose regarding the Built Green Home at Suncadia. The most common ones were:

  • How much does it cost to make my home "green"?
  • What "green" products are available?
  • What benefits are there from having a "green" home?

It was very informative hearing the questions which were asked. I think we all walked away knowing a bit more about what the public is interested in learning from the Built Green Home at Suncadia project.
